Scottish actor Tony Curran have joined the World Cup celebrations at the weekend as Scotland won their first World Cup match in 30 years. However, he may have taken things a little too far in a new social media clip.
Sharing a video about his Instagram last night (June 15), the 56-year-old is pictured proudly singing along to Loch Lomond as he stands on a long table among a crowd of Scottish fans. Dressed in a kilt and football top, the actor waves his arms and jumps on the table.
But his exit from the stage wasn’t the most graceful as he was seen tripping over the edge and then falling all the way to the ground, bringing a man dressed in red with him. Tony captioned the video: “I might have had a beer!”

Many fans and friends have taken to the comments section of the video to share their amusement at the joyous celebration. Scottish composer Lorne Balfe wrote: “Epic fall … or an epic rise”, to which Tony replied: “Down, but Scots always rise… indeed mate!”
Meanwhile, one fan commented: “Totally styled it… no one even noticed!” A third person also wrote: “Thank God you’re ok. It’s even funnier the third time. I’m sorry.”
While many people praised Tony to his celebrations, one person cheerfully added: “Love how you took another one down too! Signs of a great night!”
Tony’s friend Karen Gillan also reposted the clip on her Instagram story, with the Inverness star adding the caption: “This might be my favorite I’ve ever seen.”
The Outlander star also added an amused warning to the repost, writing: “Don’t try this at home kids,” followed by a laughing emoji.
Many fans were delighted to see the Scottish duo reunite for the World Cup after they briefly worked together on Doctor Who over a decade ago, where Tony starred as Vincent Van Gogh.
Many fans shared a photo of the pair outside Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, sharing their surprise at the meeting.
One social media user wrote under Karen’s post: “Vincent Van Gogh looks so happy to meet Amy Pond again.” While another person asked: “Is that Vincent Van Gogh with you?”
In it The Guardian of the Galaxy star’s latest uploadTony can also be seen singing along in the back of a car with Karen as they head to the Haiti match. In a twist on a classic rock song, the pair can be heard singing: “Here we go, Scotland’s all over the world.”
Both Karen and Tony are set to star in the new Jumanji movie, which wrapped production in early April. While Karen will reprise her role as Ruby Roundhouse, Tony’s character has yet to be revealed.
