Bunnie spoke exclusively Us sore why she was honest with her readers about the “betrayal” she felt over her husband’s infidelity.
“I don’t think anyone can just snap out of it. It’s a process. You’re literally grieving and you’re heartbroken, but you’re still in love with this person. Even though the affair is part of the book, it’s not our story,” she shared Us in February. “It’s literally what catapulted us into who we are today, and I think the readers (of her memoir) absolutely need to consume it, chew on it and think about it. But they also see what we made of that whole situation. It completely changed who we are as people and how we looked at love.”
Jelly Roll confessed People later in February it it was “hard” at times to read Bunnie’s candid memoirs.
“We went through a lot of pain and had to go through it together, but read
the whole book and seeing where it ended up is really moving,” he added. “I’m just proud of her for telling her story so unapologetically. I mean, she speaks fearlessly about everything from domestic violence to sexual assault. I’m just proud of her. She is so brave.”
