THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS ABOUT GENERAL HOSPITAL!General Hospital actress Katelyn MacMullen teases that there are many more surprises ahead in Willow and Drew’s story as Willow’s diabolical plan for Drew begins to unravel. After trying to kill her husband by shooting him and then getting away with it when a jury found her innocent, Willow Tait now keeps Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) in a locked state by administering a paralytic to him. She has now taken over his duties in Congress and has had complete control over him.
But now that the supplier of the drug, Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) is on the run, Willow only has a month’s supply of it left. When it runs out, Drew will be able to reveal the truth about his wife’s heinous deeds, including the shooting because she told him she was his assailant right before she paralyzed him. Despite all this, Willow may still have hope of keeping Drew quiet because WSB agent Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) has evidence of Drew’s illegal activities that she could use to blackmail him.
General Hospital’s Katelyn MacMullen breaks down Willow’s predicament with Drew
In an interview with Soap Opera DigestMacMullen acknowledged that Willow is in a very dangerous situation now that Sidwell is gone. She explained, “She’s definitely going against the clock.”
The General Hospital the star continued, “There are so many factors working against her. But the biggest thing is that at this point, Sidwell is a fugitive. He’s provided her with that lameness, and now that she’s lost her source, she’s running out of it.”
Willow had a close call once before when Drew was almost able to call 911 when his drugs started wearing off. MacMullen said, “She knows that when he misses a dose he starts to regain his agility so she knows he’ll be able to move soon. The clock is ticking and she needs this evidence against Drew like yesterday!”
Katelyn MacMullen breaks down Brennan’s possible betrayal
After Willow’s mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), accidentally injected Brennan with the same paralytic as Drew, he was admitted to Turning Woods, also in a locked state. But her conscience won’t allow her to continue drugging him, and to Willow’s shock, Brennan is slowly recovering. He has managed to convince Willow and Nina to permanently stop drugging him so he can get the evidence against Drew from a safe in his office at WSB headquarters.
MacMullen acknowledges that, however Willow may have doubts about Brennanand that she might suspect him of trying to deceive them. She stated, “I think those are her thoughts. I don’t know if she trusts a lot of people at this point or takes a lot of people at their word. But she wants to believe him because if he’s telling the truth, it would be the biggest relief in the world for her. That proof is exactly what she needs to get out of this situation.”
Katelyn MacMullen teases more twists from The General Hospital Writers
MacMullen knows Willow is backed into a corner and really has no choice but to trust Jack. She explained, “What choice does she have in Willow’s mind? She has to say yes to him, because if he’s honest and he does mind Drew in that safe, then this could finally be over.”
MacMullen acknowledged that Willow’s latest plan may not be as easy as it seems and that the writers still have a few more twists up their sleeves. she said “Let’s just say the writers haven’t run out of surprises. There’s more fun stuff coming!”
The General Hospital authors will have their work cut out for them if they ever want to redeem Willow in the future after all the horrible things she’s done. However, there are many characters on the show who are reformed villains, and even some who go on to commit crimes who are fan favorites, so it’s not impossible. Willow has had a traumatic past, and while that doesn’t excuse her behavior, it can certainly explain it. It will be exciting to see how this Willow and Drew story finally ends and what surprises the writers have in store General Hospital viewers.
