Olivia Wilde gets raw and honest about a painful part of his life.
The filmmaker recently shed light on the end of her relationship with Jason Sudeikisand revealed that she realized things had come to an end sometime in March 2020, after her birthday party.
The former couple were together from 2011 to 2020, after which Wilde dated Harry Styles briefly for about a year.
During an appearance on the latest episode of Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Dad” podcastWilde discussed her new film, “The Invite,” and admitted that it’s no surprise that she tends to make movies about the complexities of relationships.
Speaking about her own experience with romantic relationships, Wilde recalled the moment she knew her chapter with Sudeikis was over. She told the story of driving home with Sudeikis and realizing he hadn’t given her a present.
This prompted her to ask him, “Did you give me a birthday present?” To which he replied, “What would I give you, Olivia? I don’t know you.”
The honest answer made the actress realize that she and her former partner had indeed become strangers. That harsh realization was, ironically, what set the film in motion.
“That’s what made me make this movie because — or one of the things — because you can get to a place in a relationship where you stop engaging in knowing each other,” she said. “And you find yourself in a place where you’re like, ‘I don’t even know you.'”
The actress admitted that even though she knew her relationship was over, it was still a “tough” situation to navigate.

After the tragic end of her relationship, Wilde found herself in an uncomfortable position when she was served papers from Sudeiki’s 2022 CinemaCon.
During the podcast episode, the actress recalled the terrifying ordeal. She revealed that it traumatized her so much that she subsequently had to undergo therapy.
She admitted that being on stage already put her in a vulnerable position, and when she was served the papers in the middle of her speech, she found it almost too much to process.
Luckily, she was able to get through her speech before going backstage and bursting into tears. And while she hoped no one saw what happened, it was all over the internet.

In the wake of his tragic separation, Wilde struggled to pick up the pieces of his life, just as Sudeikis did. The actor recently opened up about his dating life and how hard it is to find love as someone with kids.
According to The explosionSudeikis confirmed that he is currently not seeing anyone. In the same breath, he said he’s at a point in his life where dating can easily feel “scary and overwhelming.”
Nevertheless, Sudeikis is more interested in forming meaningful connections with people rather than dating many people at once.

Just days after confessing to her challenges finding love again, Sudeikis found herself in the same room with her ex, Wilde, as they both attended their nine-year-old daughter’s graduation.

For the celebration, Sudeikis wore a blue and cream shirt paired with cargo shorts, while Wilde donned a blue sweater with jeans.
In addition to navigating a co-parenting relationship with Sudeikis, Wilde has also had to navigate aging life in the public eye.
The 42-year-old actress recently sparked debate online after some harsh critics compared her appearance to a corpse and Gollum from “Lord of the Rings”. But instead of being offended by the crude comparisons, Wilde laughed it off, as reported by The explosion.
She shared a video of herself laughing when her brother asked her to respond to the rumors comparing her to a “resurrected corpse”.
Finding humor in it, she admitted that the image in question was not her most flattering. She was still laughing and made it clear that she “wasn’t dead”.
