Following the announcement, Prostate Cancer UK responded on social media, thanking the star for highlighting the issue and reminding men of the vital importance of early detection.

“Fortunately he caught the disease at an early stage, but unfortunately this is still not the experience of many men across the UK.
“Over 10,000 fathers, brothers, sons and friends are diagnosed too late for a cure every year and today the responsibility to know if you are at higher risk and act on it rests solely on men’s shoulders.
“This needs to change. Any men concerned about Jeremy’s story should take our 30 second online Risk Checker or talk to their GP about a quick and simple blood test to check for any signs.”
