Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Free Download Officially Announced

If you’ve never played Marvel’s Spider-Man 2now maybe it’s time for you to correct that mistake. Ahead of what’s to come Spider-Man: Brand New DaySony and Insomniac Games have announced an extra special free download to get you in the mood for the web-slinger’s latest adventure. Sometimes brand synergy works in our favor.

The second trackr for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was released yesterday along with a number of new details about the film. And if you find yourself wanting to play Spider-Man sooner rather than later, Insomniac Games quickly followed up with an announcement for fans.

From July 28 (only a few days before Brand new day coming to cinemas) Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 players will be able to download the “Fresh Start” DLC completely free of charge. Unfortunately, this is not a DLC on the level we might have hoped for (planned expansions for the game seems to have been cancelled). What it is is the opportunity to donate Peter Parker’s new threads from the movie.

Insomniac Games has done a solid job of including all of the Spideys MCU costumes in these games over the years. We’ve had the Hybrid suit, the Homemade suit and the Upgraded Classic suit. The Raimi and Webb films have also been represented, so it’s nice to see the newest costume – which we know is directly influenced by Maguire and Garfield’s threads – coming to the game.

“Get a fresh start in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,” Insomniac wrote in a post on social media. “Swing across the skylines in Peter Parker’s ‘Fresh Start’ suit inspired by the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, in theaters July 31st! The suit will be available in-game via update on July 28th on PS5 and PC at no additional cost!”

This new suit is of course inspired by the idea of Peter Parker finally learning to be the kind of Spider-Man we knew in the comics. This suit and its gadgets are no longer dependent on Tony Stark or his technology, but were all created by Peter himself, establishing that this is definitely a “fresh start” for the MCU version of the character.
