You might be wondering why the series is coming to an end.

The Grantchester showrunner explained why the period TV show is ending
Showrunner Daisy Coulam was asked by TV Insider when she knew the show was going to end.
She said: “From the moment we started planning it, we thought of it as the last and going out on a high. It’s been a good run and we’ve had such a great time.”

Was the decision to end the show financial? Or was it a creative decision?
She replied, “It was a bit of both, but I would say (executive producer Emma Kingsman-Lloyd) made the choice, really. She said: “We’re going to keep making the show the best it can be. Now it’s time to end it.” We could go on, and I think we all would love to go on, but I think sometimes you just have to make the decision and then build the finale (season) to be the best it can be.”
could Grantchester ever be revived one day?
When asked by Blackstar Rishi Nair said: “I personally think we should make ‘Grantchester, the Movie’ and have all the characters come to America and experience America”
Al Weaver also added, “I don’t think anyone would be averse to doing a Christmas special if we were ever asked. That would be great. It would be fun to see everyone come back.”
