Some people aren’t excited to go out and socialize, choosing instead to reflect on the day so far or even their life choices. It is a very high IQ trait, despite the tendency to overthink almost everything.
From what you eat to whether you go to that hangout, always reflection is unfortunately what happens to intelligent individuals. About 20% of highly intelligent individuals suffering from an anxiety disorder. Trapped in what could go wrong, they prefer to stick to the safer option of staying at home.

While people with high IQs may score high on tests, they are homebodies at heart. Feeling anxious and overwhelmed every time they step out the door, especially when in crowded rooms or social situations, this is because they are sensitive to their environment.
From the sounds they hear to what they smell, everything feels overstimulating. In loud, chaotic places, they feel like they can’t get control of their emotions or well-being, and it’s akin to torture for them. So they prefer to stay at home so they can stay grounded.
3. They set strong personal boundaries

Many people are intent on pleasing everyone around them, even though they know it’s not healthy. But they cannot help but give in to the demands of others. Even if it means exhausting themselves, the thought of saying no kills them. Seam licensed clinical psychologist Sherry Pagoto pointed out, “The intense need to please and care for others is deeply rooted in either a fear of rejection and or fear of failure.”
Fortunately, by choosing a quiet, calm environment over a very high place, these people stick to their limits and stay in the right frame of mind. They realize that compromising their needs never helped anyone, and they prioritize their mental health instead.
4. They prefer predictability

People who prefer to stay at home instead of immersing themselves in loud, crowded places don’t want to step outside their own comfort zone. Unless it helps them evolve for the better, they stick to what they know. Others may disagree, but they’re not about to go out on a weekend night surrounded by a bunch of strangers.
Already overwhelmed, the last thing they want is to put themselves in a situation where they can’t control the outcome. The want consistency, not chaos and disorderand a good night at home can give them that.
5. They have intellectual depth

It’s hard to feel connected to others today. Since everyone is so shallow and caught up in social media and trying to portray themselves in a certain way, it’s rare to find someone with intellectual depth. But people who choose to stay home rather than go out are often high-IQ, introverted people.
While these environments may be fun for some, it doesn’t give them the stimulation they need. People with high IQ tend to get bored easilyso it makes sense that they prefer to skip the loud, chaotic situations. They find no excitement in it and would rather stay at home to scratch their intellectual itch.
6. They are creative

To find contentment and inspiration in a quiet environment, people who prefer to stay at home often do so because they find themselves more creative when they can think clearly. They will not find inspiration while people around them are making noise.
When they feel overstimulated and anxious from this, the calm gives them the clarity they need to express themselves. They can make a mess or experiment with color without a care in the world. And that’s something they wouldn’t be able to do if they went out.
7. They are selectively curious

Although they are portrayed as lazy, homebodies are often very intelligent. But their curiosity is selectivemeaning they pick a few things to focus on and then spend their time absorbing information on those topics.
They find it exhausting to be out in unknown territory when they would much rather be doing things that actually interest them. While parties and social gatherings can be fun for some, they are more interested in being able to expand their knowledge at home.
8. They are comfortable with solitude

For better or worse, humans are social creatures who need socialization to thrive. People can become very anxious without these connections, but those who don’t want to go out usually stay inside because they appreciate solitude. They simply do not need to socialize like the average person.
While some need to be around crowds of people to feel happy and recharge their social battery, others enjoy their own company. They feel content being by themselves and don’t feel like they’re missing out.
9. They have a rich internal dialogue

Most people are too distracted by what’s in front of them, so they don’t like wasting hours have a rich internal dialogue with himself. But instead of going out and leaving the comfort of home, high IQ people look inward.
Their minds are always running a mile a minute, filled with knowledge and needing to test theories. They have an internal dialogue to help sort through their thoughts, and while it may seem strange to some, it actually keeps them sane.
10. They have a strong observational awareness

Most people will not admit it, but they are not aware of the world around them. Maybe they walk to their car while looking at their phone, or miss the little things around them because they are easily distracted. But people with high IQs are distracted by the mundane.
They are actually hyper aware of their surroundings. Paying attention to every sound and facial expression someone makes can make them a little overwhelmed when they are around so many people at once. So they remedy this by staying at home.
Author Lauren Thomann explained: “According to psychologists and therapists, choosing to stay in can actually support your mental health in meaningful ways. From giving your nervous system a break to creating space to learn more about yourself, a peaceful night at home may benefit you more than you expect.”
11. They are radically honest

While some people may keep their thoughts hidden, people with high IQs can be honest, sometimes to their detriment. But they are not about to hold their tongues if they witness something they don’t like. In their eyes, there is nothing worse than someone who distorts the truth.
There are people who are afraid to cross boundaries and want to walk on eggshells, but these intelligent individuals want to be upfront. It may not make sense to everyone, but they stay home because they don’t want to be around inauthenticity.
