West Wilson and Amanda Batula‘s controversial romance was thrust into the spotlight after an alleged video of the pair was threatened to be leaked. But does the video even exist?
“I haven’t seen it, but I’ve heard from credible sources it does,” West, 31, revealed during The Broadcast Boys’ Wednesday, June 24, Instagram breakdown of Cottage scandal. “It is highly illegal, I would like to note.”
During the video, hosts Lucas Brody and Nelson Vergaraboth friends of West, grilled the reality star about his and Amanda’s relationship timeline. When it comes to video that allegedly sparked their hasty public statementWest admitted he has no idea if it’s really out there.
“From what I’ve been told, Amanda and I were sitting in my apartment from one of my neighbors across the street,” West explained in the breakdown on social media. “That’s what kind of set everything into panic, emergency mode.”
When asked why West’s blinds were open if he was a “D-list” celebrity, Lucas said he never expected to be filmed.
“I guess I’ve always thought that in New York there’s an unspoken rule that we can all see each other across our damn windows and balconies, like, don’t film each other,” West replied.
Lucas and Nelson, who are known for discussing the hottest topics on the internet – and decoding scandals using whiteboards – accepted West’s explanation but did not let up their criticism of how West and Amanda, 34, became a couple.
Lucas, for his part, called out West for releasing a “soulless” joint statement with Amanda on March 31 after denying rumors they were dating a week earlier. (The statement came just two months after Amanda and her estranged husband, Kyle Cookeannounced in January that they had split after four years of marriage.)

He would not reveal who wrote the statement, which confirmed it the couple had become romantic after being friends for years.
“Obviously, don’t give a damn about me or her,” West added. “We put our Google notes in it.”
When asked about the rumors that he and Amanda were dating as early as February 8th (Super Bowl weekend), West said no.
However, he explained where the speculation came from afterwards Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia claimed the pair already were dating before that weekend.
“I think I was just pissed and told Bri, ‘Amanda’s single. Amanda’s hot,'” West recalled.
He also addressed the faux pas of kisses Amanda at a Yankees game in early April, shortly after their controversial romance went public. (The Yankees game took place on April 17, the same day that West’s ex-boyfriend and Amanda’s former BFF Ciara Miller graced the front page Glamour and spoke out for the first time about the betrayal she felt.)
“The first month of this, I was in survival fight or flight,” West said Wednesday, noting that he tried to do normal things to counteract what was happening.
He admitted, “I wasn’t thinking about anyone but me.”
When asked about West’s touchy-feely actions against Amanda while they were filming season 10 of Cottage in the summer of 2025 was any indication that they were secretly hooking up before their relationship in 2026, West once again denied the allegations.
“It’s kind of who I am,” he explained of hanging out with his friends. “I always hug and tell my friend that I love them.”
After West and Amanda’s relationship bombshell, the couple reunited with theirs Cottage costars in April to film a three-part review.
During the episodes, the couple dodged a lot of questions about their relationship and their true feelings for each other. But under Cottage: The Aftermathwhich was filmed in May and aired earlier this month, West admitted that he has been babysitting Amanda for some time.
“I haven’t gotten to the point where I’ve told her or myself that I’m in love or not. But I love her and I have. I’ve cared for her for a very, very long time,” West told Kyle, 43, during the June 16 special.
