The devastated singer’s parents had just moved to Switzerland to start “a new chapter in their lives”.
Scottish singer Tallia Storm has paid tribute to her father following his sudden death in Switzerland. The Glasgow-born former Capital Scotland breakfast host shared the devastating news on her social media on Thursday evening.
The 27-year-old who is brooklyn beckham’s ex-girlfriendpaid an emotional tribute to her father, Sascha Hartmann, calling him her “world”, “hero” and “the inspiration behind her music career”.
Tallia’s father died in Lugano in Switzerland yesterday. He had moved there with Tallia’s mother Tessa Hartmann in December “to start a new chapter in their lives”.
In addition to Tallia, the couple raised three others children – Valentina, Johnny and Zachary.
Tallia took to Instagram and wrote: “I have no words. My heart is broken. I can’t understand any of this. Our world is broken and will never be the same.
“My amazing dad. You were my world and you will continue to be forever. I am in shock. Please pray for my family. Please pray for my precious mother.
“I’ve never felt a pain like this in my life. My amazing, amazing, selfless, kind, caring father. My hero. He taught me everything I know. My dream of music came from my father, he was the greatest musician, the greatest artist I’ve ever known.
“I can’t find the words right now, but please pray for us all. Rest in peace, my incredible, amazing father, Sascha Hartmann. I love you forever.”
Tallia rose to fame as a teenager after being championed by music icon Sir Elton John. She has built a successful career as a singer, TV presenter and media personality.
Her father was a respected musician, composer and artist. The family tragedy was also dealt with by Tallia’s mother, a businesswoman and meeting entrepreneur Tessa Hartmann, who was married to her husband for almost 30 years.
She wrote on Instagram: “Sometimes there are words that you never imagine, in your whole life you will have to write…
“Sascha was one of a kind. A true gentleman… He was gifted beyond words – an exceptional artist, a beautiful composer and pianist. But above all else, he was the most devoted father…“In August we were supposed to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Instead, I am organizing his funeral. I keep asking God for strength to understand why this has happened, knowing that I may never find the answer…“The last 24 hours have gone by in a blur. We are completely heartbroken. Heartbroken beyond anything I could have ever imagined… Sascha, we loved every part of you… Your remarkable mind. Your music. Your beautiful piano playing. We will continue to play your songs, tell your stories and carry your love with us for the rest of our lives.”
Funeral arrangements are expected to take place in Lugano next week.
Tessa founded the Scottish Fashion Awards in 2006 and is one of the original cast of ITVBe’s The Real Housewives of Jersey.
