Bode Miller is no longer standing drug offense charges after prosecutors in Idaho agreed to dismiss the case following his arrest earlier this month.
The Olympic skiing legend, who vehemently denied wrongdoing after the incident, had been charged following a June 6 traffic stop in Fremont County, Idaho.
Charges dropped in Idaho
Miller’s lawyer, Jeromy Stafford, confirmed that the two charges against the former Olympic gold medalist have been dismissed.
“No drugs were found on Bode’s person,” Stafford said, adding that prosecutors agreed to drop all charges after reviewing the facts of the case.
Fremont County Prosecutor Lindsey Blake also confirmed the decision, saying her office determined it was “in the interest of justice” to dismiss the charges.
Blake said she would not discuss specific details because the new information involved another active case.
Miller denied drug allegations
Before the charges were dropped, Miller issued a statement explaining his side of the incident.
He said he was pulled over for speeding while passing another vehicle on an Idaho highway.
According to Miller, a friend traveling with him had a small amount of weed and a pipe, which Miller said he did not know about.
He said both men were cooperating with law enforcement and expressed confidence that the charges would be dismissed once the facts were reviewed.

Arrest came near painful anniversary
The arrest came just days before the anniversary of the death of Miller’s 19-month-old daughter, Emeline, who drowned in a neighbor’s swimming pool on June 9, 2018.
Miller and his wife, Morgan, have spoken publicly about the tragedy over the years and have worked to raise awareness about childhood drowning prevention.
The Olympic legacy is back
Miller remains one of the most decorated alpine skiers in American history.
He won six Olympic medals during his career, including gold at the 2010 Vancouver Games, along with two overall World Championship titles.
He retired from competitive skiing in 2017.

The dismissal of Bode Miller’s charges appears to close a stressful chapter for the Olympic champion, especially given the timing around such a painful family anniversary. Miller maintained from the start that the drugs were not his, and prosecutors ultimately agreed not to proceed with the case.
