Legendary Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard has issued a new health update following a recent “chaotic” hospital trip to discuss starting radiotherapy treatment
Kroningsgade icon Beverly Callard has openly opened up about her latest health scare, describing her latest hospital trip as “chaotic”.
Earlier this year the legendary soap actress69, revealed that she had been diagnosed with the early stages of breast cancer, and after initial surgery that took place earlier this year, has been on track to start radiation treatment for some time now.
She exposed her diagnosis in February and regularly updates her followers with her health struggles.
In her latest Instagram update she has opened up about her latest health scare and receiving radiation treatment. Speaking on the social media platform, Beverley captioned her latest video update: “Well it’s been a long day! Loads of tests and scans and more tests… followed by a rather chaotic meeting with the radiotherapy team! The plan is starting to come together but I’m just keen to get started now…”
In the video, she says from her hospital bed: “For now, blood pressure done, it’s loud, of course because I’m nervous. They’ve taken blood, blood oxygen levels and now they have to see if they can fit me for a scan before they get the results of the blood tests.”
Later in the video, it switches to a clip of her out of the hospital, where she says, “The good news is, it’s definitely not a blood clot, they did all the ultrasounds, they did everything.. every test they did, and apparently it’s a cyst, but it’s pretty common. I’m not happy that I got something completely normal, but here we go.”
She went on to explain that it was on the back of her knee and that she was visiting St Luke’s to see a radiation therapist. Speaking about the deal, she said: “It was all a bit chaotic because their computer system went down so there were lots of people waiting to go in.
“I saw Professor Armstrong and he said it was quite short, but he said I should have 10 days of radiotherapy. Five days straight, then a weekend off, then five more days.”
She confirmed that she was unsure when treatment would start.
Followers took to comments to share positivity, one writing: “Bless you, we are all behind you for a speedy recovery.” Another wrote: “You did the right thing by getting it checked out. Glad it was a cyst and not a blood clot. Sending you hugs and love.”
