Dancing with the stars cast members, including hosts, judges and professional dancers, react to the announcement of the latest Season 35 celebrity cast member, Guillermo Rodriguez. Guillermo, a comedian best known for being Jimmy Kimmel’s beloved sidekick Jimmy Kimmel Live!first rose to fame while working as a security guard in the parking lot of the Hollywood Boulevard Masonic Temple studio.
In the June 17 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!Jimmy announced that Guillermo would be joining Dancing with the stars season 35. As Guillermo danced onto the stage in costume, Jimmy declared that the 55-year-old comedian would become the first ever security guard to dance with the stars. Guillermo proclaimed that he was excited, very happy and ready for the challenge.
Dancing With The Stars Cast Members React to Guillermo’s Casting
In the comment field for a Dancing with the stars Instagram post, several cast members from the show expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for Guillermo’s casting. Professional dancer Emma Slater was particularly excited about it and wrote several comments. she said “WAIT THAT’S AWESOME!!!!!,” and “Did the prince of the people just enter the chat??” Emma also referred to her incredible Season 34 run with underdog comedian Andy Richter, where they came in at number 8. She wrote, “Well, if he’s not my partner, he’s my biggest competition because I KNOW what these funny men can do.”
Other Dancing with the stars pros were also psyched that Guillermo was on the show, including Pasha Pashkov, who wrote, “Can you pleeaasseee be my partner Guillermo?!?” Ezra Sosa had the same idea and said: “I call dibs.” Brandon Armstrong gushed, “I’m a fangirl,” while Daniella Karagach raved, “OH MY GOD.” Jenna Johnson said, “OMG!!!!! Unbelievable. SO excited,” while Sasha Farber stated, “YESSSSSSSS THIS IS EPICCCCC.” Rylee Arnold chimed in with, “YESSSSSSSS.”
In addition Dancing with the stars host Julianne Hough welcomed Guillermo, writing, “Can’t WAIT to have you on the show Guillermo.” Judge Carrie Ann Inaba expressed a similar sentiment, saying, “welcome to the ballroom!”
What to expect from Dancing with the Stars Season 35
Dancing with the stars Hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough are expected to return to the ballroom for season 35, along with judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli. In addition to Guillermo, three other contestants competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy have been announced: reality TV personality Maura Higgins, Cottage star Ciara Miller and Savannah Bananas second baseman Jackson Olson. The full cast, along with their professional dance partners, will be announced on Good morning America on September 2.
That’s Guillermo for sure a wonderful addition to Dancing with the stars season 35. He is already a fan favorite and it will be so much fun to watch him learn and grow during the competition. He is also so loved by everyone involved in the show. Dancing with the stars season 34 marked a renaissance for the long-running series, and season 35 already looks to be just as spectacular.
