A new hot bomb has entered the ballroom.
Dancing with the stars announced Wednesday night that Guillermo Rodriguez, Jimmy Kimmel’s longtime late-night sidekick, is joining the cast.
If Rodriguez’s name comes as a surprise, it is because many DWTS fans were sure of that Love Island star Rob Rausch would be the next announced contestant for the season. Actually one Polymarket scenario gives him at the moment 50% odds to be cast.

While this casting announcement isn’t what fans were expecting, Rodriguez remains a beloved figure among TV fans.
Coming off a tough season that drew the most Jimmy Kimmel live viewers back to the program in a decade, Rodriguez is the fourth DWTS Season 35 cast announced.
The former security guard comes along Love Island star Maura Higgins, Cottage dear Ciara Miller and Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson.
“Guillermo has been a resident of California and a US citizen since 2005. Guillermo counts watching football, eating Mexican food, spending time with family and being involved in his son’s sports among his favorite things,” reads Wednesday’s announcement.
Rodriguez began his time at Jimmy Kimmel live as a security guard in the parking lot and was eventually plucked from the crew and planted on the set, where he has remained by Kimmel’s side for 23 years as the self-titled host’s “sidekick.” He participates in interviews, banter with Kimmel and hosts the recurring segment “Guillermo’s Hollywood Roundup” where he conducts his own conversations with celebrity guests. He regularly attends the Oscars red carpet for correspondent work.
Season 35 of DWTS does not yet have a premiere date. A full cast of celebrity contestants and pro partners will be announced on the September 2 episode of Good morning America.

While the official cast (and their pro-dancer pairings) have yet to be announced, fans can still place bets on who will win the season. ONE Polymarket scenario currently has Miller in the lead with a 49% chance taking home the Mirrorball Trophy.
