Pokemon Pokopia has been a huge success for Nintendo since its release, with the unique spin-off being a major contributor to the Switch 2s record sales figures after the launch. Being one of the most creative Pokémon game and offers hundreds of hours of gameplay from digging, exploring and building new homes for your favorite creatures, it’s not hard to see why it’s so popular either.
While the recently announced DLC is about to make the experience even bigger with new areas and finally letting Ditto swim underwater, fans seem far more excited about a much easier to overlook feature that has been leaked to arrive in Pokopia soon too.
According to CentroLeaks on X, the extension pass for Pokemon Pokopia will also introduce the option to decorate your favourite Pokémon in new outfits, which was hinted at by some retailers who revealed the key after it was made available for sale before Nintendo announced it.
While fans are more than a little excited about the possibility of create underwater cities in the new DLC, fans have been ecstatic at the leaked prospect of dressing up their favorite Pokémonwhich is a sorely missed feature from previous entries in the series. Although it wasn’t the most requested feature since launch, fans like FrankKirits have expressed that they are far “more interested in that than the avatar customization.“
From dedicated gamers who shouted that this is “BEST NEWS EVER” to brand new players who see it as “the reason I finally buy it“, even players who held back on buying the expansion had to admit that they were “could convince me again, dammit” with the introduction of Pokémon adaptation.
With the key art already hinting at some of the adorable designs we can expect to see in the full expansion release, it’s also not hard to see why players are excited as Pokemon Contests from previous entries in the franchise is still a beloved part of the series that many fans are eagerly waiting to see return in a new release.
However, not everyone is equally excited about the announcement, as some players believe that it is “locked behind a paywall” is not the most consumer-friendly practice, while others bemoan the fact that while we’re getting the feature in Pokopiait highlights how disappointing it is that the feature hasn’t made its way into any of the new main games for a while now.
Although it’s far too early to say how concrete the concept will be or if we’ll see a similar feature Pokémon costume contests from previous entries in the franchise, hopefully this won’t be the last time Nintendo experiments with the concept if rumored DLC feature will be a hit with Pokemon Pokopia players.
