Timothée Chalamet has just announced his new film – but we’re not so sure Kylie Jenner shares his excitement!
On Sunday, the Call me by your name actor took to himself Instagram History to tease a new project. Against the background of a picture of a cloudy sky, he wrote:
“new movie announcement tmrw :)”
The 30-year-old included a rocket ship emoji. See (below):
Well, Monday came and went and he kept his promise! Timmy announced on his IG Story that for the new project he is entering the world of animation for Lighting‘s Not alone – an alien themed adventure! Cool! But what quickly began to dominate the fan conversation was not the project itself – but who Oscar-nominated actor is set to star alongside… Any guesses?? We’ll give you a hint: she’s one of Kylie’s biggest rivals!

OMG! You mean THE Selena Gomez who sparked feud rumors with Kylie’s bestie THIS YEAR Hailey Bieber?! Sheesh!

According to a plot synopsis revealed by Universal imagesTimmy will play a character named Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic, while Selena will play Fran, an astro-botanist working on the world’s first plant-powered rocket ship. Read the full synopsis (below):
“When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the first launch of this revolutionary rocket, there are instant sparks, but neither is particularly adept at romance.”
Practice! So not only will Timmy play alongside Selena, but their characters will share a romantic spark! The synopsis continues:
“Life gets more complicated when three aliens—tiny, unruly, and adorable—take refuge in Joe’s home. Dunk, Welly, and Shirm are on an interplanetary run from a zealous but inept law enforcement officer named Zandro. The aliens determine that Frans’s rocket can provide them with the means to return home to safety.”
All the ingredients for a box office juggernaut are there! But on social media, fans just can’t stop talking about how awkward the pairing feels given the whole long and twisted story — and wondering if that means there’s a rift between Kylie and Timmy!

As we mentioned, Hailey is one of Kylie’s best friends. And over the last several years – pretty much ever since Hailey got married Justin Bieber – fans have pitted the two women against each other online! The two celebs haven’t exactly shied away from time to time shadows each othereither… And who could forget 2023 eyebrow lamination dramawhich actually INVOLVED Kylie! In one TikTok at the time, Selena admitted she accidentally overlaminated her brows — and hours later, Kylie posted a screenshot of a FaceTime with Hailey, where they both put their own eyebrows forward. She wrote it:
“Was this an accident????”
