“SHE’S HERE! WE’RE FEAR! 🥹 Our baby’s name is… 🩷,” Pentatonix singer34 and Titanic The producer, 35, captioned their joint Instagram post on Tuesday, June 23, revealing that they settled on the name Birdie James after singing about the many monikers they considered.
“She was born on June 3rd and given a name close to their hearts,” Scott shared People. “The first song I ever learned to sing when I was little was ‘Put On a Happy Face’ from Bye Bye Birdie.”
Scott Hoying is still booked and busy despite leaving the Dancing With the Stars ballroom. The artist also noted that Mark’s middle name is James, adding, “We wanted something that was musical but not too on the nose. And we also just loved that it felt… It feels like it could work for all ages.”
Scott and Mark said they are over the moon that their the bundle of joy has arrived months after Scott’s sister Lauren volunteered to be their egg donor.
“I literally can’t believe how selfless she is. She was so passionate about doing that,” Scott gushed about his sister and how he will be forever grateful for her sacrifices. “I love my sister so much and I can’t thank her enough for giving the gift of life.”
Reflecting on his life’s journey, Scott revealed that he feels blessed to have found love and to now be able to embark on the new chapter of parenthood with Mark.
They previously released a gender reveal video in January where they sang about what their child might look like in the future before confirming they were expecting a girl.
Before welcoming a baby girl, the couple exchanged vows in July 2023 at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara, California. Their ceremony took place more than a year after Scott proposed in the Bahamas in April 2022.

“It was really beautiful. It was this overwhelming flashback of all these memories of growing up and being like, ‘Am I going to find love? Will gay marriage be legal? Am I going to be able to have a child?'” Speaking about his journey to parenthood, Scott revealed, “The process of having a child took four or five years.”
Scott said he was overcome with emotion when he met their daughter, admitting: “It’s been a long time coming and just looking at her I started crying because it was just such a beautiful thing, I feel really, really lucky.”
