The story of Shrek started over two decades ago and it’s still not over!
The first film, which premiered in 2001, launched a mega-successful franchise with some of the industry’s most beloved actors, still going strong with a new film planned for 2026.
Actor Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diazand Antonio Banderasthe animated film series turned traditional fairy tales on their head with an irreverent sense of humor and surprising twists. The star-studded cast of industry heavyweights didn’t hurt either.
With Shrek 5 will be released later this yearwe decided to look back and revisit the cast to rank them based on their estimated net worth. There were quite a few ties, including two stars who came in first after raking in approximately $200 million per year.
