EXCLUSIVE: Love Island Aidan and Kavan’s ‘benefit’ has been revealed as former contestant Kaz Kamwi reveals ‘they want to protect each other’
The “advantage” enjoyed by brothers Aidan and Kavan Murphy Love Island villa has come to light.
Estate agent Aidan entered the villa on day one as part of the first cast, along with 11 beautiful singletons looking for a summer filled with love.
At first he connected with Ellie Chadwick before the bomb, Yasmin Hadlow chose to take her place in the series’ first shocking elimination.
Yet, in a surprising turn of events, the Scottish stunner returned to the villa accompanied by a new bomb; none other than Aidan’s little brother, Kavan.
Over the years, Love Island has seen its fair share of twins and former contestant Kaz Kamwi, who featured in series seven and All Stars series one, believes having a relative in the villa is a significant advantage, reports the mirror.
speaks to BestBettingSites.co.ukthe leading comparison site for online casinosexplained Kaz: “I survived for weeks on end because of my friendships in the villa both times and that’s because I was so close to people I would never send home and I know they would never have sent me home.
“People are like ‘it’s not Friends Island’ but it’s Love Island and Friends Island at the same time. So I think when you have a sibling in there, you’re never going to go against each other.”
She added: “You always want to protect each other and then you want to protect each other’s couples and interests, so that’s always an advantage.
“They also both have someone they can get real opinions and advice from, and someone they actually trust, whereas everyone else has to trust someone. You have your comfort in there.”
The Murphy brothers’ mum, sister and brother appeared on spin-off show Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday (June 7) and chatted with the presenter Maya Jama about Aidan and Kavan’s exploits in the villa so far.
Their mother admitted it felt “weird” to see her two sons on screen, admitting: “I have no idea (how they got on Love Island) it’s as much of a shock to me as it is to everyone else. It was a surprise I only found out a little bit earlier.”
She continued: “I enjoy it. There are moments when my toes curl, but I’m not going to lie. I’m their mother.”
As Maya probed the Murphy matriarch for any pearls of wisdom to share with her boys, she wasted no time in delivering a stern message to the pair.
“Kavan is very mature for his age. More mature than Aidan,” she said. “Aidan, take it easy. Settle it.” She turned her attention to Kavan and warned, “Don’t follow in your brother’s footsteps and kind of divert away from that.”
Love Island airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 21.00
