Scary movie faces a steep decline but will still ultimately make money, it seems.

The latest installment in the horror movie spoof series is currently at No. 3 at the domestic box office in its second weekend of release, according to Black.

The film faced a 70% drop in its second weekend in theaters.

Scary movie grossed an additional $14.5 million from 3,504 theaters, according to the report, bringing its total to date to $84.5 million at the domestic box office and $173.1 million worldwide.

The film reportedly cost only $30 million to produce. As a result, it appears to be on track to be a financial success despite the drastic drop in its second weekend.

Here is the synopsis:

Twenty-six years after running from a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs, and no horror IP is safe. Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunites in Scary Movie along with returning favorites and fresh faces to cut through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, heightened horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “last chapter” that is definitely not final. Nothing is sacred. No trope survives. Every line gets crossed. Wayans is back to cancel Cancel culture.

Kenan Thompson, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Kim Wayans, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Damon Wayans Jr., Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Cameron Scott Roberts, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, Gregg Wayans, Benny Zielkeand Ruby Snowber also all stars.

Critics are not exactly laughing at the film. Find out what the reviews are saying so far.
