What an emotional Father’s Day.
Kimberly Van Der Beek took to Instagram on Father’s Day to honor her late husband, James Van Der Beekwith a touching tribute that makes fans feel all the emotions. Post marked the first Father’s Day since the actor’s death earlier this year, which makes the holidays particularly difficult for the family.

In her message, Kimberly reflected on how much she misses James and praised the kind of father he was all his life. She wrote that she thought about how “magnificent” he was and shared her belief that he continues to guide and parent their family from the other side.
She wrote:
“Missing you so much and thinking how magnificent you were in every way today. And somehow from the other side? You continue to parent. You are a wonder.”
So touching.
The heartfelt note offered insight into the grief Kimberly and the couple’s children are still experiencing months after losing the beloved actor — and served as a celebration of the love and influence James left behind.
Fans flooded the comments section with messages of support, condolences and shared memories of the star. Many thanked Kimberly for sharing such a personal moment and sent love to the entire family as they also continue to grieve.
As we have reported, is Dawson’s Creek alum died earlier this year after battling colon cancer — a diagnosis he revealed in late 2024. Since his passing, tributes have continued to pour in from fans, friends and members of the entertainment industry.
