Alana Haim counters on the specially designed t-shirts she has made to the Knicks game this week!
The 34-year-old musician and actress wore a “Knickole Kidman” shirt, while her sister Est wore a “Knickleback” t-shirt and BFF Taylor Swift wore a “Stevie Knicks” jersey for Game 4 of the NBA Finals.
Mariska Hargitay and Sombr also got the same shirt seam Taylor!
In a new interview, Alana revealed how the shirts were made and the text from Taylor that started it all.
“I love making shirts for my friends; I have my friends come over all the time and I’m like, ‘Do you want to make shirts?’ It’s my creative outlet. I can’t paint. I wish I could paint, but I can’t. But I found out how to screen print and I kind of have a little setup at home,” Alana diskette to Vogue. “I have a Cricut, which is this precision vinyl and paper cutting printer. It’s hard to explain what a Cricut is. A lot of DIY people online love the Cricut, and that’s why I got it, and I cut out the vinyl, put it on a screen, and you buy some silkscreen paint and you iron it on. I’ve been wanting to try this for a long time, and I’ve been wanting to use it. a puff-paste effect on these shirts, which was great fun.”
The noun games came thanks to a text from Taylor!

I have received an SMS from Taylor it really was the text you want as an amateur screen printer (Laughing.) She said, “I want to wear this shirt to the game, can you make it for me?” and I thought, “I thought you’d never ask, it’s my dream.” When I start a session with a friend, I say, “Let’s talk puns, let’s talk size,” and (Swift) arrived at Stevie Knicks. We went back and forth a bit with these puns; we really just wanted to have fun because we were so excited to go to the game and I thought it would make people laugh so we put them on shirts and everyone decided to wear them.
Mariska famously ran to the play after finishing his Broadway show, Every brilliant thingand she ended up wearing a shirt too. So was it planned? Alana she says “always bring extras”!
“Taylor really wanted to bring extras so we could give them to friends. And Mariska was so down; she’s such an amazing person and I’m such a huge fan of hers, so for her to want to wear one of my shirts too was crazy,” the singer explained. “It really bonded us. I’ve never hugged anyone more than at that game. It was such an incredible game, so I was really glad we brought extras.”
