Ending ‘Kelly Clarkson Show’: Who Will Replace Her During The Day?

When the news came The Kelly Clarkson Show ends after the current season, fans quickly began asking the same question: Who to replace Kelly Clarkson?

At first it seemed like a pretty exciting opportunity.

Pink recently stepped in as a guest host — and viewers quickly embraced the idea. Her performance sparked speculation that the pop superstar could be a natural successor to Clarkson’s daytime throne.

But as it turns out, NBCUniversal had a completely different plan in mind.

NBC will not find a new host

Instead of searching for a new face to lead the show, NBCUniversal is shutting down its first-time syndicated TV production division altogether.

It means more shows produced through the unit will cease, including:

  • The Kelly Clarkson Show
  • Get access to Hollywood
  • Access Live
  • Karamo
  • The Steve Wilko Show

In a statement, NBCUniversal executive Frances Berwick said the move reflects a broader shift in what local stations want to broadcast.

“NBCUniversal is making changes to our first-run syndication division to better align with local stations’ programming preferences,” Berwick said.

Stations are increasingly prioritizing local news, community programming and select national franchises, making the traditional syndicated talk show model harder to sustain.
