The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Liz McGraw recently appeared on See what’s happening live.
While there, she was asked what she was trying to do by insisting on co-star Alicia Carmody was never homelesseven though Alicia said she was.
“From what I’d ever known about Alicia and her family, they sold the house they were renovating at the grandparents in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Rhode Island and everyone moved in with their dad,” Liz shared.
She noted that this is what she had come into the show knowing.
“And for everything I ever knew about Alicia, she always, you know, had love around her, she was always dressed in the best designers,” Liz continued. “So for me to hear the word homeless … it was knee-jerk.”
Liz insisted she was making an effort to “prevent” Alicia from getting “any local reaction” from those who knew the facts.
“So like at that point, it would be like you’re saying to me right now in front of all these people, ‘Liz, I’ve been, you know, pretending to be gay all these years, but I’m really straight,'” she told the host. Andy Cohen. “I’d have the same reaction. I’d be like, ‘You’re never straight!’ Do you know that? This is who I am.”
Liz reiterated that it was a “knee-jerk reaction,” but it didn’t come “from a place of malice.”
“I didn’t know where she was going, I didn’t know how far she was going with it, and I was never going to belittle her feelings,” Liz added. “I only ever wanted to protect Alicia.”
After Liz’s performance, Alicia took to Instagram to comment: “I’m joining the conversation about my life story funny. I have to tell it. I think Liz needs to worry about her story and keep me and my family’s name out of her mouth now, it’s getting obsessive.”
“I never, ever wanted to talk about it again after that dinner!” Liz shot back. “I still don’t! I have nothing to do!”
She added that Andy “asked” and she insisted she “wasn’t the one who kept it going 10 days after that night 🤷♀️”
