The band opened for Take That on their Circus tour earlier this evening before heading to Malone’s Irish Bar in Glasgow to keep the party going
The Script played a surprise gig at Malone’s Irish Bar in Glasgow last night after their 40 minute set at Hampden as Take That’s opening act to the Circus Tour.
The Dublin band surprised fans when they took to the Sauchiehall Lane-based pub for a more intimate performance after singing to crowds of over 50,000 just hours before.
Malone’s have shared several videos of the band on their social media pages, captioning one clip: “We have a very special guest appearance right now here at Malone’s Glasgow. @thescriptofficial. What a way to start the weekend!”
The Script also shared their own video of their surprise concert on Instagram, writing: “Glasgow, you sang your heart out in the stadium so we decided to continue the party in the pub. Loved hearing everyone sing Man In The Arena. #thescriptfamily #maninthearena”
Lead singer Danny O’Donoghue, 45, played guitar as he belted out some of the band’s most famous tracks at the Glasgow pub, including Hall of Fame, For the First Time and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.
The packed pub can be heard enthusiastically returning every word to him.
The video shared by the band also shows close-ups of fans in the crowd as they can be seen dancing and singing along.
Fans in the comments gushed over their performance, with one writing: “Best night of our lives!”
Another added: “Great night!”
A third echoed: “They were excellent.”
It’s not the first time the band have played a pub in Glasgow after doing something similar surprise appearance at The Clutha Bar after opening for P!nk on its 2024 Summer Carnival World Tour at Hampden Park.
The Script were back at the stadium last night after being the second support act for Take That on their ‘The Circus’ UK & Ireland tour last night.
It comes almost seventeen years after The Script opened for the band back in June 2009 during Take That’s original The Circus tour.

They arrived on stage after the Go-Go’s Berlinda Carlisle and played a 40-minute set list, including their new track Man In The Arena.
Danny certainly warmed up the crowd by jumping into the crowd and also took a fan’s phone to Facetime their ex during the band’s performance of their famous track, Nothing.
They return to Hampden tonight, Saturday 13 June, to open for Take That on their second night at the stadium.
From there they head to Cardiff, next week followed by more dates at Manchester’s Ethad Stadium and London Stadium, before finishing at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.
