Young and restless reveals that Patty Williams is using her former shrink to keep Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) trapped so Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) can come along Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). And Patty pays Dr. Laurence Markham (Jere Burns) big money to do her evil bidding, but she doesn’t have unlimited funds.
So this has me thinking that maybe Patty has another partner in crime who is actually funding her whole sick scheme and it could be Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Y&R: Jack plays along with Patty’s demands
This week after Patty showed Jack photo of Diane captured and supposedly locked up in a mental institution, Jack panics and realizes that he has to play along with Patty’s demands or something very bad could happen to Diane, even worse than what has already happened.
At the same time, we all know that Victor still hates Jack as much as ever. In a recent interview, Eric Braeden explained the reason behind this endless rage that he has for Jack. And the actor said that Victor is sure that Jack and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) slept together on the infamous night of debauchery. And given that Victor hired Patty to kidnap, drug, and molest Jack, I could see a world where he beats Patty to keep messing with Jack and Diane’s marriage.

So this week, says Jack Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to give Patty the performance of her life. He has to make her believe that he wants her. And of course Kyle hates this. But Jack is sure that this is the only way to protect Diane and save her from Patty. And Jack thinks that if he romances Patty, it will keep Diane safe. But at the same time, Jack thinks Patty will relax and drop some hints about where Diane is. And that way, Jack can then send the police to rescue Diane.
But Jack also knows he has to play everything right with Patty. And boy, does she make some insane demands that Jack doesn’t like, and neither do the Abbotts. But he tells Kyle and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) that they all have to play along. Jack is already trying to slow things down between him and Patty.
And then Jack slowly tries to romance her and convince her without actually sleeping with her. Then he told Patty that he is engaged to her but it will just take some time to adjust because Dianes his wife and Jack tried to explain that this is all brand new to him. But of course Patty is relentless.
Y&R: Patty’s escalating demands
At first she insisted that they take their new romance public and demanded that Jack take her out on the town. So Jack took Patty out for drinks so everyone could see them together. And when Kyle then addressed them, Jack played along with Patty’s demands and actually defended her to Kyle, but he already knows the deal.
And when Jack and Patty showed up at Society, of course, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) was appalled to see Jack out with Patty. Now she knows her Uncle Jack loves Diane and Abby hates Patty as much as the other Abbotts do because she is the reason her Aunt Tracy’s daughter Colleen died. Plus, Patty not only shot Abby’s Uncle Jack, but also Abby’s father, Victor, and she almost killed him. He needed a heart transplant and barely survived it. So Abby was totally disgusted to see them together, but Jack pulled Abigail aside and explained to her the real deal that Diane was in danger.

And later, Jack lays it out to the other Abbotts, telling Abby, Bill, and Tracy that he has to play along with Patty and give her exactly what she wants, or something terrible could happen to Diane.
So not only did she want Jack to publicly date her, but Patty wants to move into the Abbott mansion and she wants all the other Abbotts kicked out. It’s just Jack and Patty playing together, pretending to be boyfriend and girlfriend and more. So Jack told the others they had to go because he has to play house with Crazy Patty or something. This is the only way she will believe that Jack is all in and that he actually wants a real relationship with her. It tells you how crazy Patty is believe that this is plausible.
Y&R: Victor’s hidden hand behind the plan
So Jack thinks he’s going to get close to her and then turn his gaze on Patty, but he’s going to have to be really convincing. So Jack is playing his part, but I think there could be another shocker in store, although he really shouldn’t be surprised if it ends up like this.
Right now Patty is paying Dr. Markham to keep Diane. And Patty plans to keep her locked up for several years indefinitely so she can keep Jack. And yes, Victor has already given Patty a whole bag of cash. It was her reward for kidnapping Jack. But that bag didn’t have enough money to keep Diane locked up for long. Regarding Dr. Markham, he’s in it for the money, but I don’t think he’s her only co-conspirator.
And already he seems like a bad shrink because he treated Patty and let her go and she’s clearly still crazy. Additionally, it appears that Dr. Markham has no moral compass or professional ethics. He takes money from someone he knows is crazy, Patty, and does bad things to a perfectly sane woman, Diane. So at this point I have a complete suspicion that Patty’s real partner in crime is once again Victor Newman.

Also, as I’ve said in recent videos, Young and restless doing all of this to clean up the broken plotline that appeared underneath it Beyond the Gates crossover. And honestly, I think they’re doing it really bad because there was a spoiler for Tuesday that said Diane meets Patty’s partner in crime, but Diane already met Dr. Markham in Monday’s episode, and Diane didn’t meet anyone else in Tuesday’s episode. So the spoilers are honestly as sloppy as this plot.
However, I can see if Patty brought this crazy plan to Victor that he would smile and give her a big wad of cash to do it because he wants to ruin Jack’s life. And taking Diane away from him and keeping Jack with Crazy Patty living in his mansion would be sweet revenge for Victor.
And we know that Jack is living rent-free in Victor’s head even now, because when Nikki asked Victor to make up, it was in the last week and a half, I think. He said, “Of course we can get back together if you cut Jack out of your life.” So Victor isn’t letting go of his grudge against Jack just yet. And Victor hates that Nikki is still friends with Jack even now.

It’s also why he went nuclear when Nikki was upset with Victor for aiding Patty’s plan to kidnap and drug Jack. And Victor freaked out when Nikki asked, “Did the other people at the fundraiser survive the tornado?” And Victor assumed she was asking about Jack and he blew up and stormed out.
So you know, Victor insisted he had nothing to do with what Patty did to Jack before and that he just made bad choices. But Nikki and everyone else know that Victor is behind it. And now with Diane gone, I’m sure it won’t be long before Nikki asks Victor if he’s behind it too. But we know he lies like a blanket. So I don’t think he will tell the truth.
But I think Patty needs someone to fund her health plan. And Victor has deep pockets and a deep hatred for Jack. So we’ll see how it works. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Patty stop by to give Victor a status report on their latest partner in crime project.
