Pixar gem!
Everyone is buzzing about Pixar’s latest blockbuster, Toy Story 5which shattered franchise records with a global opening of $312 million, marking the biggest box office debut of 2026.
To celebrate the universally beloved franchise, Disney went completely out with special screening events in several major cities, including Atlanta, where many of the bustling city’s tastemakers, movers and creators came out for fun family parties at the multiplex.
Hosted by the McClure family with a special appearance by Craig Robinsonbrought out the star-studded affair Porsha WilliamsToya Johnson Rushing, Yandy Smithand more who enjoyed customized candy and treats, interactive photo ops, DIY cowboy hats, Midway Mania games, a Luxo Ball challenge and classic movie concessions in an adorably decorated theater wonderland.
IN Toy Story 5fans are introduced to new character Lilypad – a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet (voiced by Greta Lee) who threatens the gang’s job with her own disturbing ideas about what’s best for their child, Bonnie.
Tom Hanks returns as the ever-loyal cowboy Woody, Tim Allen returns for duty as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack saddles up again as bright-eyed cowgirl Jessie, and Tony Hale returns as the voice of the handmade toy Forky.
Also joining the party are Conan O’Brien as toilet training tech toy Smarty Pants, Craig Robinson as Atlas – a cheerful, talking GPS hippo toy, Shelby Rabara as the exciting camera toy Snappy, Scarlett Spears as sweet 8-year-old Bonnie, Mykal-Michelle as addicts Matty Harris as an 8-year-old girl Matty Harris loves – and Blaze the animal. as the tech-feared toy, Dr. Nutcase.
Directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton (WICK, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory) and co-director Kenna Harris, the blockbuster smash is sure to dominate the box office before tagging into live-action Moana reshoot in July.
