Marcus Rashford’s girlfriend, Lucia Loiwas in tears as she shared a health update today. The PR manager, 28, who has known England’s star, Marcus, also 28, since they were teenagers, shared a heartbreaking photo of herself lying in bed crying as she revealed she suffers from endometriosis.
Endometriosis is an often painful condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. Symptoms include pelvic pain and heavy menstrual bleeding.
Telling her followers she was getting ready for a night out before “endometriosis had other ideas”, Lucia captioned her photo: “This was me last night. I had my heels on, my makeup done and I was ready to go celebrate my friend’s birthday. Endometriosis had other ideas.”
Admitting that she felt “angry” about the lack of treatment for the condition, she continued: “I’ve been meaning to write about this for so long, but I’ve never really found the courage.
“However, last night I felt so angry at the fact that so many women are going through this while there are so few effective treatment options and the condition is still so under-researched. Over time, I’ve found some things that have helped to an extent and I intend to share more of that.”
Lucia signed off, “Sending so much love to everyone living with a women’s health condition.”
Lucia’s followers praised the 28-year-old for speaking out about endometriosis and sent their support, with one replying: “Hope you’re ok @lucialoi. Well done for talking. I am sure you will help many women.”
Lucia met Barcelona star Marcus at school in Manchester when they were both 15. They got engaged in 2022 after a lavish proposal in Los Angeles, but broke it off a year later when Marcus was reportedly dating Love Island star Grace Jackson before things petered out in late 2024.
In 2025, the footballer and Lucia rekindled their relationship, with Lucia supporting Marcus in his new role at Barcelona.
He claims the PR manager is a positive influence on her boyfriend, a source said The sun: “Marcus knows that some of the best moments of his career have occurred when Lucia has been by his side.
“They got together when they were very young and have had ups and downs, but a friendship has always been there.
“He knows she’s good for him, and she’s one of the few people in the country world he knows he has his best interests at heart.” Meanwhile, the source also claimed that Lucia is “very sensible” and helps keep the soccer star “grounded”.
