According to Deadline, Best medicine season 2 will feature Veasey and Spinella as series regulars. Executive producer and showrunner Liz Tuccillo stated that she was thrilled to see the actors promoted, saying: “Nothing makes me happier than making it official with Stephen Spinella and Jason Veasey as our beloved Greg and George. Working with two gentlemen who make every scene funnier, warmer and more surprising and happen to be wonderful people themselves is all a showrunner could ever ask for.”

Best medicine executive producer Rodney Ferrell had similar words of praise for the actors, saying, “Stephen and Jason have become vital to the fabric of Port Wenn, so making them series regulars is more than exciting, but welcoming members of the LGBTQ+ community to our regular family during Pride Month is the cherry on top.”

Best medicine also stars Josh Charles as Dr. Martin Best, Abigail Spencer as school teacher Louisa Gavin, Annie Potts as Martin’s Aunt Sarah, Josh Segarra as Town Sheriff Mark Mylow and Cree as Martin’s assistant, Elaine Denton.

Best medicine season 1 left viewers with some major cliffhangers. Not only was Martin under investigation for letting Elaine take blood from patients to help him with his blood phobia, but he also overheard Mark asking Louisa if she wanted a baby with him as friends after she began her journey to motherhood. This prompted Martin to call his ex, Dr. Eden Montgomery (Eliza Coupe). Additionally, Sarah declared that everyone in Port Wenn will be rich after she notices that there are sea urchins in the water for miles.

Best medicine has always had the perfect mix of comedy and drama, and George and Greg have provided plenty of belly laughs as well as several heartfelt moments. It’s wonderful that Veasey and Spinella are getting bigger roles in Season 2 because they add so much to the series. George and Greg’s relationship is one of the most beautiful and pure in the show, and they deserve to be told even more of their story. Best medicine Season 2 already looks like it’s going to be just as magical as Season 1.
