Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid have split up.
After more than 10 years together Friends star and Snow Patrol band member has broken up. And the timeline may REALLY surprise you… On Saturday, DailyMail.com reported that the couple quietly went their separate ways sometime in late 2025! Hoof! Little details are currently known, but a friend of the exes shared that they reached a point in their relationship where they were living “different lives.” But don’t worry, they went out on good food. The insider told the magazine:
“Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely friendly. They are good friends and care a lot about each other. This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives.”
We’re so glad they were able to keep things amicable.

Courteney, 62, and Johnny, 49, met through mutual friends at a party in 2013. And nine months into their relationship, the pair got engaged… Although they called things off in 2015, before ultimately calling it quits the following year – but without a ring tone.
In 2024, Courteney opened up about attending couples therapy with the songwriter, where he broke up with her within the first minute. She revealed on Minnie question podcast then:
“He just broke up within the first minute and I was like, ‘What?’ We were engaged. And I was so shocked. I was so hurt. I don’t like surprises either.”
However, she used the split as an opportunity to work on herself:
“As opposed to screwing him, you know, getting into this state of anger. I went in and I worked on myself by far the most. I learned to claim my voice, boundaries — what were my motivations in life — like, what was my part in this? … I’m so grateful for that breakup, because when we got back together, it was a different relationship.”
