Intimate story of Rebel Wilson losing her virginity, relived on Broadway stage – by her ex

Comedian and actor Mickey Gooch Jr., who was famously named in Rebel Wilson’s autobiography, the man she lost her virginity to at the age of 35 found herself unwittingly involved in a skit that read Wilson’s sexual confessions aloud on a Broadway stage.

Appearing at a recent performance of the Celebrity Autobiography show — a comedy revue featuring a rotating cast of celebrities who perform verbatim readings of other stars’ memoirs — at New York City’s Shubert Theater, Gooch was introduced by fellow comedian Kathy Griffin.

There was just one catch: He was not told in advance that he had been booked to read extracts from Wilson’s memoirs – specifically the ones in which he was called out as her first lover.

After Gooch took the stage, Griffin began reading from “Rebel Rising,” choosing the chapter titled “Late Bloomer.” In that chapter, Wilson described meeting Gooch and their first dates before building up to the main event.

“Micks, I know this may be news to you if you’re reading this, but yes, I lost my virginity to you,” Griffin said. “And you were a big sissy.”

Gooch, for his part, kept an admirably cool, ad-libbed humor and interjected Griffin’s reading with extra detail. After Griffin’s “big shag” comment, he let out a loud “Ayyy!” and punched the air comically to the audience’s amusement.

The performance was one of the final shows of the highly successful Celebrity Autobiography show and marked Gooch’s first time on a Broadway stage.

“It was a pretty surreal way to make my Broadway debut,” Gooch said of the surprise that came his way. “I think I’ve popped my Broadway cherry, literally.”

Wilson, 46, dated Gooch, 41, for a few months in 2015 and at the time they were seen acting cozy and “very cute” against each other on a dinner date in Manhattan.

The two had met while working on the 2016 film How to Be Single.

They split amicably in September of that year with a source tells Us Weekly”It’s been hard on him. They’re still friends, so you never know if they can get back together.”

In February 2023, Wilson confirmed she got engaged for jewelry designers Ramona Agruma. The couple exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Italy in September 2024, and is now parents of two daughters.
