Jennifer Lopez opens up about the fallout from her divorce from Ben Affleck!
During a performance at SmartLess podcast on Monday, the 56-year-old actress looked back on the “confusing” time in her life. You’ll remember that Bennifer got back together almost 20 years after their first engagement in 2002. It was a kismet second chance romance, or so we all thought! They got married in 2022, but they were over two years later! And when Jennifer and Ben decided to divorce, the singer recalled on the podcast that she had to “cancel (her) tour” to sit down and “f**king figure (her) self out.” She continued:
“What’s up with you? Forget about everyone else. There’s no one to blame here but yourself in a way. Not that people aren’t behaving in ways that aren’t great. But what are you doing? What are you up to?”

No, Jennifer won’t get into the details of how certain “people don’t behave in a way that isn’t great.” At least not in the podcast section. She told the hosts Jason Bateman, Will Arnettand Sean Hayes she could share “over a glass of wine” one day. Oh! So they get the tea and we don’t! How unfair!
But that moment “a few years ago” was a “turning point” for J.Lo. The On the floor the artist realized that she would “attract … certain things” into her life, adding:
“Whether people outside knew it or not, I felt like my life was blowing up in my own face.”
Jennifer said she had to look inward and study the “patterns” of her past relationships, and when she did, she knew she needed to focus more on herself:
“I was able to go back to that little girl (I once was) and really look at her. And just kind of say, ‘You did this.’ You did all this. Give yourself a little damn something. A little love! Stop looking for love in other things and give it to yourself.”
Her sister, Lynda Lopezalso gave her very important advice! The Office romance star said she told her to be her own “keeper” for once:
“These are all little pieces. I feel like the journey is little puzzle pieces that you fit in little by little as you sit there … and say, ‘This is me.'”
After all the self-reflection, Jennifer expressed that she is genuinely “happy” these days:
“The last 20 years have been this one thing, the last five years have been a tumult, and the last two have been kind of the healing process from that tumult where I really got to know myself. The person I am today is so different from the person I was two years ago. It’s crazy.”
