Jim Edmonds took aim at the production of The Real Housewives of Orange County during a podcast appearance days ago, targeting the producers’ manipulation.

Although Jim, 55, who appeared on the show along with his now ex-wife Meghan King41, admitted to enjoying his role at times, he also hinted at contrived stories, revealed when he realized he had no control over his portrayal, and suggested that “every second” was manipulated.

“I thought it would be fun. I knew everybody involved. Right? So they actually made us come because of the ones I knew, with the girls and other people, and obviously it wasn’t all that I thought it was going to be,” Jim shared on the June 11 episode of Tomi Laren is fearless.

Looking back on his time filming, Jim recalled getting advice from someone who warned, “‘Hey, if you don’t have a story, they’re going to make it look like you, and then and then don’t come together.’

“And then I also found out that they take a lot of B-roll when you’re not paying attention, even if nothing’s happening and you’re sitting alone on your front porch. So they’re doing a lot of stuff. (And) I finally realized it when I said to one of the camera guys, ‘How (are) you today?’ And he said, ‘I’m fine. I don’t have to sit in a studio for 14 hours waiting for someone to roll their eyes.’ And that’s when I thought, ‘Okay, I see what we’re doing here,’” Jim continued. “They can portray you to do and be whatever they want you to be.

According to Jim, who is now married to wife Courtney O’Connorhe’s the same person all the time – and “not the most smiling person all the time.”

“I enjoyed it, being with those people… (But) it was kind of interesting because they don’t care that we’re there. But they want to use you, so it’s kind of a weird double-edged sword,” he noted.

Jim then signaled heavily edited scenes and suggested the producers used alcohol to heighten the drama.

“From what I saw, saw the girls and saw everything, they manipulated every second of it,” he declared. “We’re at a party and then all of a sudden they started fighting. That’s not really how it works, but if they feed you enough alcohol, you can get into it.”

Jim Edmonds was on board The Real Housewives of Orange County from season 10 to season 12 inclusive.
