RHOA Star Shamea Morton SUES Atlanta Doctor Over Chemical Peel That Burned Her Back!
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton is suing after what she claims was a cosmetic procedure gone horribly wrong.

According to Us Weekly, Shamea accuses an Atlanta doctor of “negligently burning” her during a chemical peel — an ordeal she says left her with extensive, permanent scarring. On October 31 Shamea Morton and her husband, Gerald Mwangi, filed a lawsuit against medical malpractice Jing Jing Wong Harris, MDher company Pretty Faces Atlanta, and several other defendants.
It appears from court documents Shamea underwent a chemical peel at Pretty Faces Atlanta on March 13, 2024, but claims she should never have been approved for the procedure in the first place. The lawsuit alleges Shamea suffers from Tinea Versicolor, a fungal disease, and says she should have been referred to “a trained and qualified dermatologist” instead of receiving the peel.

Although she did not have the condition, Shamea claims the treatment was still inappropriate – especially given her skin type. According to the suit, the peel performed (including two rounds) was “completely inappropriate” for her African American skin, especially without any skin preparation or pigment correction using medicated skin care or less aggressive treatments beforehand.
The lawsuit goes on to accuse a third-party defendant of using a chemical peel that was far too strong on Shamea Morton’s back and arms – allegedly without Harris‘ supervision. Morton claims the procedure resulted in “second degree burns, blisters and permanent scarring.”

During treatment, Shamea says she was in excruciating pain. According to the filing, she “cried in pain due to sensations she experienced.” The lawsuit further alleges that her “screams were so loud” that Harris eventually entered the room for the first time that day to see what was happening.
When Shamea told Jing Jing Wong Harris, MD she was in intense pain, the suit alleges Harris dismissed her concerns and allegedly told her she was being “dramatic.”

The filing also claims that “only after seeing the tears from (Morton) crying” did Harris apply “an unknown solution from a spray bottle” to her back. Shamea further claims Harris “never consulted, examined or approved the treatment plan” before the chemical peel was applied.
Shamea Morton seeks unspecified damages. Her lawyer, Darren M. Tobin, said, “What happened to Shamea when she was burned is unacceptable and unforgivable. We intend to pursue full justice permitted under the law.”
