TRNSMT is offering special late tickets for Richard Ashcroft sets and Scotland-Morocco clash

TRNSMT will transform into a fan zone for Scotland’s second group stage match against Morocco on June 19

Scotland fans will be able to see the decider World Cup match against Morocco on the nation’s biggest screen after the opening day of TRNSMT ends Friday night (June 19).

Organizers are turning festival site Glasgow Green into a huge fan zone following Richard Ashcroft’s headline performance, with thousands of supporters expected to stay and watch the group stage live from Boston.

Also advertised is a special late entry ticket that allows football fans to enter the festival area from 7.30pm, to catch Ashcroft’s set and enjoy a unique program of pre-match entertainment before kick-off.

The evening will be hosted by broadcaster Sean McDonald, best known for his popular Blethered podcast. He is joined on stage by Rose Reilly, the only Scottish person to win one WC. Reilly won with Italy’s women’s team in 1984, scoring in the final and securing a place in football history.

Anticipation is already building after Scotland’s dramatic win in their opening Group C match in the early hours of Sunday morning. But now attention has turned to Friday night’s meeting with Morocco, with thousands expected to gather at Glasgow Green to cheer on Steve Clarke page.

Organizers are expecting a massive crowd and are hoping for a sea of salters to fill Glasgow Green.

George Bowie said: “I’m buzzing to play Glasgow Green after TRNSMT this Friday and support the Scottish team with the best crowd in the world – something I’ve always wanted to do.

“I’ll be playing many of the great football songs I’ve been a part of, from Bits to Boogie and a surprise or two… and you never know who might join us on stage. Then we can watch the game on the biggest screen in the country. Come on Scotland and get on Glasgow Green!”

While host Sean McDonald said: “I’m so excited to be part of such a big day and night for Glasgow and for Scotland. The Glasgow Green crowd is always electric and I know they will create an incredible atmosphere for the whole game.

“Thousands of us together on the Green, getting behind Scotland at the World Cup amid a celebratory atmosphere … what more could you want?”

DF Concerts chief executive Geoff Ellis said the screening would make for a memorable event for fans. “We’re building up to another massive weekend at Glasgow Green, but it won’t be much bigger than showing a World Cup game on the country’s biggest screen,” he said.
