Anna Faris opens up about a difficult time in her life – her divorce from Chris Pratt!
As is known, the couple got together in 2009 and had their son Jack three years later. But unfortunately their marriage did not last. They divorced in 2018. Going through a breakup is hard enough, but then having it go down so publicly can make it 10x harder! Anna knows this all too well! In rare comments about the split, she shared Black on Saturday when asked about the media scrutiny surrounding their divorce:
“I was upset. Sad. I feel like I had enough guts, enough of a core, and I’ve tried to be careful about how much Hollywood infiltrates, but now I’ve been on a spectrum of fame for 26 years, so I’d be naive to think that it hasn’t shaped who I am at this point. But f**k. The investigation.”

But during that emotional time in her life, what helped her push through the pain? Her podcast, Anna Faris is unqualified. She expressed:
“I’m lucky that at the time I had my podcast (‘Unqualified’). It goes back to talk radio. I wanted four people to listen and build my own secret community. I wanted an avenue outside of Hollywood as a way to connect with people.”
Although Anna didn’t share much about what was going on with her divorce, she found comfort in knowing that if she wanted to say something, she could:
“I used to do this thing on ski lifts, where if I was on a ski lift with a stranger, I’d say, ‘Do you want to have a really intense 10-minute conversation with me? And you can answer any question you want.’ And I would ask them questions like, ‘When was the first time you fell in love?’ I have had a constant desire to connect with people. I didn’t reveal much on the podcast, but I always felt like I could if I needed to.”
The work on the show “helped” in the end Anna:
“The podcast helped me a lot during that time, and it made me think: I know I could be happy if I write, because that’s what I’ve always loved, and maybe it’s an opportunity to make money. I was thinking about a version of retirement.”
Don’t worry! Anna is NOT retiring anytime soon! She continued:
“But now I feel like the opportunities are more abundant than they’ve ever been! I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude. When people see me, they usually smile and say, ‘Oh, I love The House Bunny!’ or ‘Oh, I love scary movies!’ or ‘Mom helped me through the hard times’.”
We hope to see Anna continue to thrive in this new chapter of life! Reactions, perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments (below)!
