EastEnders actor arrested on set for alleged sex offenses cleared of charges


The BBC soap actor, who was arrested on sex offense charges last year, has now been acquitted.

An EastEnders star who was arrested on the set of the popular BBC soap in relation to alleged sex crimes has been cleared of all charges.

A man in his 50s was arrested on set following allegations of a attack which left one woman “obviously very distressed” last year.

A woman complained that an extra had forcibly tried to kiss her on 7 May 2025. BBC Security soap opera, recorded at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Herts, was forced to step in, leading to a brawl.

The man was later handed over to police and was arrested for common assault and sexual assault against two alleged victims. The cameras stopped rolling when the incident took place.

The police have now confirmed that the man has been released and that no further action will be taken against him. reports the Mirror.

In a statement, Hertfordshire Police said: “Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report of an incident in Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood on Wednesday 7 May 2025.

“A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault in relation to two victims. Following initial inquiries he was released without further action.”

At that time spoke to The sunsources had claimed the incident was “dramatic”, adding: “Everyone was quite shaken by the whole thing.” The witness said: “Nobody could quite believe what happened.

“The main focus was the woman’s welfare as she was clearly very upset. It is clear that filming had to be stopped while the incident was dealt with by production managers and security.

“It got very heated when the man turned on the security staff as they tried to calm things down. He was eventually questioned and taken away by the police.”

The man who was arrested had reportedly complained to bosses about the treatment he received on the set of the soap.

At the time of his arrest, an EastEnders spokesman said: “While we would never comment on individuals, EastEnders has on-site security and well-established procedures in place to protect the safety and welfare of everyone working on show.”
