A social media influencer famous for balancing fitness with a hard-partying lifestyle has admitted defeat after trying to keep up with Tartan army during their recent WC adventure in Miami. Richie Lovelace, better known to his followers as Daddy Wellness, is a popular fitness and lifestyle content creator who describes himself as “the world’s healthiest degenerate.”
He has built a huge following through his fun approach to maintaining a lean physique while still enjoying nights out, drinking and partying. But he himself found out how to wave the flag after participating Scotland supporters for a night on the town.
Have heard a lot about The Tartan Army’s antics in Boston during Scotland’s first two World Cup matches in the group stages, Richie decided he wanted to experience the famous Scottish support for himself.
The influencer went in search of the traveling fans in Miami beforehand Scotland’s crucial group clash against Brazil and was quickly swept away in the atmosphere.
Richie joined supporters as they attended the Miami Marlins’ baseball game against the Texas Rangers, where Scotland’s fans once again turned heads with their chants and celebrations.
Despite attending just one baseball game before, the social media star embraced the occasion and traveled with supporters as he joined chants of No Scotland, No Party.
However, it didn’t take long for him to realize that he may have underestimated exactly what he was getting himself into.
Richie documented the experience on Instagram and jokingly suggested that the Tartan Army needed a new name. Instead of calling them the Tartan Army, he renamed them the ‘Tartan Beasts’.
As the night continued, the influencer admitted he had never witnessed anything like the atmosphere the Scottish supporters had created in Miami.
Writing on his Instagram story, he said: “Really never seen energy in Miami like this Scot brought today. No Scotland no fu**ing party. holy f**k I’m getting hung cheddar cheese tomorrow.”
While Miami is internationally known for its nightlife and party scene, Richie claimed that the Tartan Army had brought an energy level unlike anything he had previously experienced in the city.
The fitness creator later revealed the moment he realized it was time to make his exit. According to Richie, as soon as the Tartan Army brought out the whiskey, he knew he was done for if he continued to party with them.
The influencer joked that if he stayed any longer, he would likely be unable to function for the rest of the week. He eventually accepted defeat and called it a night, leaving Scotland’s supporters to continue their celebrations.
In a final update, he paid tribute to the traveling fans while admitting he had been thoroughly beaten. Next to a photo of him lying in bed, he wrote: “The Scots have buried me. I can’t go on. Respect. I will redeem myself in the promised land one day.”
Summing up the night, Richie posted a score to reflect on the outcome of his battle drinking with the famously thirsty Tartan Army, writing: “Tartan Army 1 – My livvy 0.”
