A Netflix true crime Documentary, which viewers say is one of the most ‘hard-hitting’ out there, is the perfect title to watch after one of the streamer’s latest hits.
Many fans of streaming has been absorbed with the new film release Maternal Instinct. That title tells the shocking true story of a pregnancy secret that turned even darker than anyone could imagine.
At the time of writing it is the most viewed films among UK subscribers. Fans have been so quick to skim the documentary length that they have been on the lookout for what to watch next.
One of those people took to the Netflix subreddit for some advice. In their post, they simply stated, “Looking for a true crime documentary even crazier than Maternal Instinct about Taylor Parker.”
Recommendations quickly flooded in, but one of the most popular responses was The Girl in the Picture. This movie was originally released on Netflix back in 2022. With the large amount of true crime movies and series produced and released by the company, some may have missed it at the time.
It starts after the mysterious death of a young mother found on the side of the road. Soon after, her son is kidnapped, opening a decades-long puzzle about the woman’s true identity and a murderous fugitive in the middle of it all.
Those who suggested Maternal Instinct fans watch it next claimed it’s ‘crazy’ and admitted they “haven’t stopped thinking about it.” They added that it has incredible twists and turns and will blow your mind.
Critics also agree, with the film earning a 96% rating on the website Rotten Tomatoes. Several other viewers have also shared their thoughts on the film and suggest that it is a must-watch for all true crime fans.
One shared online: “A messy story that needed to be told. My palm is still on my forehead and the word infidel doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. Long review short, watch this movie You won’t believe this type of animal actually existed.”
